Come and see our Chelsea Collection at the V&A Museum

Five tableware pieces from our favourite Chelsea Collection have been unveiled as part of the Portmeirion: Pottery Trendsetter display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
Sara attended a glamorous private launch party in honour of the new exhibition. As you can imagine its not every day that your designs make it into one of the most illustrious museums in the world.
‘I’m so proud to have my work exhibited here as part of our collaboration with Portmeirion. When I was at school I would often come to the V&A and in particular loved the William Morris tea rooms. There is just something about the V&A which is truly unique. The magical entrance with the stunning Chihuly chandelier is breathtaking. When the exhibition was unveiled yesterday I was amazed that it was next door to a series of ceramics by William De Morgan that I had studied as part of my Art GCSE work! Needless to say I never imagined coming back nearly 20 years later to see my work featured in the next room!’

The V&A tea rooms, designed by James Gamble, William Morris and Edward Poynter. The space was opulently decorated to reflect the eclectic tastes of the Victorian era.
Our fine china tableware is made in collaboration with the famous British pottery makers, Portmeirion, and this year they are marking the centenary of their founder’s birth with a special display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London entitled Portmeirion: Pottery Trendsetter. The display is a true celebration of innovative crockery design with a variety of exquisite crockery sets reaching back across their sixty year history, right up to present day with our enchanting Chelsea Collection.
Five fine china pieces from our Chelsea Collection will be on display next to some of Portmeirion’s most well known designs. Our tableware on show includes the Green Birds teapot, teacup and saucer, cake plate, cake slice and cake stand.
The exhibition is on from Wednesday 31st October 2018 through to Sunday 28th July 2019, so you really have no excuse not to visit, you’ll find the exhibition in the ceramics department, room 146. And, the best part… its totally free!
